TO ENSURE YOUR SUCCESS, PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION:

  (I) INTRODUCTION

The VC Office Hours Series is designed to be a resource for the Caltech, venture capital/investor, and business communities. The series is conducted by invitation only, and is structured to have selected entrepreneurs meet one-on-one with investment partners at California Technology Ventures, LLC (www.ctventures.com). The VC Office Hour series is designed to serve as a sounding-board for business ideas. California Technology Ventures, LLC will evaluate and offer feedback on the business concept/plan, give additional references (where applicable), and provide suggestions on next steps.

VC Office Hour Series - Schedule
Office hours will be held approximately once every six weeks. The exact meeting dates will be announced via email and posted on the Entretech website.

  Mentorship Circle
The Mentorship Circle includes professionals from various disciplines including: law, accounting, tax, business management, etc. These independent professionals will help those interested learn about what investors, venture capitalists and advisors look for when they consider new deals.

  Disclaimer of Liability
Every effort will be made to accommodate persons interested in the VC Office Hour Series. However, due to the disproportionate number of prospective entrepreneurs compared to participating venture capital professionals, only a small number of applicants will be invited to participate in the VC Office Hour Series.

Entrepreneurs must be aware that the majority of new businesses fail. California Technology Ventures, LLC agrees to use best efforts to help entrepreneurs understand and mitigate the risks associated with new business ventures, but assumes no legal liability for the outcome of any business venture that the entrepreneur chooses to engage in.

  II) APPLICATION PROCESS
Please register online using this Application Form. You will be notified if you are selected for the VC Office Hours. Please note that due to the high level of interest and scarcity of feasible business opportunities, only a small number of applicants will be selected to participate and that this does not guarantee any funding.

  Selection Process
Acceptance for the VC Office Hours Series is highly competitive. The selection committee will review your application and two-page executive summary. All decisions made by the selection committee are final.

Your two-page executive summary need not outline your business plan; rather it must address the following issues (without disclosing any proprietary or confidential information):

  • The basic concept of your business idea (“What market pain does it solve?”)
  • The business / investment opportunity (“What is the intended market and how large is it?”)
  • You and/or your team’s ability to capture and develop the business opportunity

  Cancellation
Written notice of cancellations must be received at least one week before the scheduled VC Office Hour. The VC Office Hour dates are subject to change and/or cancellation. In the event of a schedule change, meeting participants will be notified immediately.
